software gore

Software gore is an EP released by 8485 (also known as "Eighty") on Jan 31st 2024. It follows the story of two people who run a gore blog together, and culminates in their eventual arrest after they attempt a murder. It's only 9 minutes long, but it is amazing.

After being intensely pulled in by the story, I searched for more information and found that this EP is part of an ARG. this is the album's bandcamp description:

I’d like to be clear that nothing here is meant as an endorsement of Jay “Spec” Doherty/deathrayspec or Cass Bleecker/Ctrl_machine. On the off chance that any of my followers have fallen down the same niche Internet rabbit holes as I have, the association might be obvious.

It's none of my business to speculate about the truth of other people's lives and I’d be the last to inflict that on anyone else. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, just a person who was drawn into a story because it’s easy to see yourself in a blurry image. What it inspired for me should be treated as fiction (a lot of you seem to call everything “lore” anyway, so feel free to keep it up for now.)

She then links to her website which can be found here. This page is dedicated to documenting all the information on this ARG that I can find, and to maybe garner some new fans willing to help me out. If you're interested, I recommend listening to the EP, looking through the entire personalprotocol.net website, and then coming back here to read my blog entries.
